Cela faisait bien longtemps que l'on avait plus eu de nouvelle de Roosevelt. Le duo fait un retour fracassant avec l'annonce d'un debut album prévu pour le 19 août... Oui, il va falloir patienter! Du coup, les Allemands nous proposent un avant-goût avec Colours. Dès les premières mesures on retrouve la fameuse basse groovy, une réelle identité sonore pour le groupe. Le chanteur n'a rien perdu de sa voix puissante pour chanter des refrains entrainants, et envoutant à la fois...

Pool - Pink Pussy

Nous avions découvert Pool au printemps avec leur entêtant State Of Mind. Ils sont de retour avec un deuxième single, le coquin Pink Pussy, extrait de l'album Snacks & Supplies. (Lorsque vous mettez "Pool - Pink Pussy" sur google, vous pouvez trouver quelques films pornos).

Une mélodie pop simple avec un refrain accrocheur. Une chanson moqueuse avec un joli clip. Comment résister?

Roosevelt, notre petit chouchou allemand revient avec un nouveau titre. Night Moves marque le retour de Marius Lauber après un silence de près de 18 mois. Délicieusement groovy et légèrement mélancolique, le morceau nous emmène  pour une balade nocturne des plus agréables.

Pool - State Of Mind

Aujourd'hui, on a eu un petit coup de coeur pour un nouveau groupe qu'on vient de découvrir. Originaire de Hambourg, Pool nous a surpris avec le premier single de leur premier album Snacks & Supplie.

Si nous devions comparer le son du trio avec d'autres groupes allemands, nous pourrions dire qu'ils se situent entre Panda People, The Whitest Boy Alive et Von Spar. State of Mind, une piste électro rock fraichement groovy que l'on ne vas pas oublier de sitôt.

Today, we had a little crush for a new band that we just discovered. Hailing from Hamburg, Pool surprised us with the first single of their debut-album Snacks & Supplie.

If we had to compare their sound with other German bands, we could say that they are situated between Panda People, The Whitest Boy Alive and Von Spar. State of Mind is a cool groovy electro rock track that we not forget soon.

I'M NOT A BAND propose une chanson engagée contre le racisme et les différents mouvements anti-immigration en Allemagne. Une belle chanson électro pop derrière un message politique.

Panda People - The Usual Place

Il me semblait qu'ils étaient morts. Leur dernier message sur leur page Facebook était il y a deux ans, et depuis ce temps, pas de nouvelles.

Il y a dix jours, les garcons de Panda People ont discrètement mis en ligne une nouvelle chanson, The Usual Place. Pas de commentaires, pas d'info, juste une super chanson. Le groupe électro pop allemand est donc de retour avec un titre bien groovy et on est très content de dire qu'ils n’ont pas changé leur style, un doux mélange de basses accrocheuses et de synthés new wave. It seemed to me that they were dead. Their last post on their Facebook page was two years ago, and since that time, no news.

Ten days ago, guys from Panda People discreetly put online a new song, The Usual Place. No comments, no info, just a great song. So, the German electro pop band is back with a groovy track and we are quite happy to say that they didn’t change their style, a sweet mix of catchy basses and new wave synths. it's on AdP Records, and it's free download.

Von Spar - Streetlife LP

Cela n’est pas leur premier album, mais le son de Von Spar n'est venu à nos oreilles que récemment grâce à leur nouvel opus, Streetlife. Un disque made in Germany, épais et riche, où l'atmosphère varie beaucoup entre les chansons.

Chain Of Command, en tant que premier single donne l'impression avec son majestueux piano que l'album est surtout électro pop, mais c’est plus fin que cela. En écoutant Ahnherr Der Schwätzer par exemple, on se rend compte du large éventail de leurs influences. Plutôt krautrock dans ce dernier cas. Un album assez intrigant mais plutôt prenant.

This is not their first album, but the sound of Von Spar just came to our ears recently thanks to their new opus, Streetlife. A thick and rich piece, where the atmosphere varies a lot between songs.

Chain Of Command, as the first single gives the impression with its stately leading piano that the album is mostly electro pop, but it is finer than that. By listening to Ahnherr Der Schwätzer for example, you realize the wide range of their influences. Let's say krautrock in this last case. A quite intriguing and charming record. Made in Germany.

Vianney - Je Te Deteste (Glastrophobie Remix)

Le producteur allemand Glastrophobie a décidé de franchir le Rhin pour remixer une chanson française, Je Te Déteste chanté par une des révélation folk de l'année, Vianney. Une fraiche vague de deep house qui rencontre la jeune et romantique voix du frenchy. Une chanson sensible conduite par une guitare accrocheuse.

Si vous aimez ce remix, vous devriez aller faire un tour sur le soundcloud de Glastrophobie. Et pour Vianney, son premier album, c’est pour le mois prochain.

The German producer Glastrophobie decided to cross the Rhine, to remix a French song, Je Te Deteste by the young folk revelation of the year, Vianney. A fresh deep house wave meets a young and romantic voice. A sensible track leads by a catchy guitar.

Il faut dire qu'on a l'habitude d'être régalé avec Munk, allemand vivant à Marseille qui nous offre ici une alliance très sympa de new-disco berlinois et de détente provençale.

Un mois avant la sortie de son EP le 25 août, le patron du label Gomma a assorti le premier extrait de son prochain EP, Happiness Juice, d'un clip coloré qui rend l'attente compliquée!

Munk, a German artist living un Marseille is familiar with this kind of dancing Nu-Disco and perfectly mixes sounds from Berlin with the provencal way of life.

Luca Vasta - Black Tears White Lies (Roosevelt Remix)

C'est l'un de nos chouchous, on le suit de près. Roosevelt a mis en ligne un nouveau remix qu'il vient de faire pour sa compatriote, la chanteuse allemande Luca Vasta. Pas tellement fan de la voix, mais la musique ne déçoit pas. Il y a encore une ligne de basse très groovy et des guitares funky. Bref, c'est le genre de son qu'on partage avec plaisir.

This is one of the guys we closely follow. Roosevelt has put online a new remix he just made for his compatriot, the German singer Luca Vasta. No so crazy about the voice but the music doesn't disappoint. There are still a very groovy bass line and funky guitars. The kind of sound we are happy to share with you.

Comme vous vous en doutez peut être, c’est plus aérien et moins groovy que ses pistes précédentes, mais toujours aussi bon.

One of our favorite German producers Roosevelt made a new smooth track. Via his label Greco-Roman, he put online a cover of John Martyn’s Small Hours. As you may have guess, it sounds more atmospheric than his previous works.

His four-track debut EP, Elliot is still available and if you missed it, we highly advise you to listen to it!

Lilly Wood & Prick - Prayer (Jean Blanc Edit)

Par moments, nous avons tous besoin d'un petit moment de douceur. Et c'est une douceur musicale que nous propose Jean Blanc. Ce duo, originaire de Munich a retravaillé en profondeur le titre de Lily Wood & the Prick, pour rendre Prayer plus punchy. Une sensation étrange s'empare de votre corps, on se sent comme sur un nuage, planant à quelques centimètres au-dessus de son canapé.

Pour prolonger le voyage, leur remix de This Sweet Love de James Yuill.

Satin Jackets feat. KLP - For Days EP

Le dernier Satin Jackets est un pur moment de tendresse. Une pomade que l'on se repasse sans s'en lasser. Le duo Allemand s'associe à la chanteuse KLP pour nous livrer For Days et Night Keys sous la forme d'un EP, accompagné de remixes de 5 Reasons et Flamingo Drive. 

L'Australienne les a rencontré à Berlin. Ils ont ensuite joué un gig ensemble à Londres, et de là est né un solide lien de complicité entre eux. De jolies productions réalisées une fois n'est pas coutume sur Eskimo Recordings, un label à suivre de près !

The last Satin Jackets is a moment of pure tenderness. A pomade which can be ironed without tirelessly. The German duo joins singer KLP to deliver us For Days and Night Keys as an EP, along with remixes of 5 Reasons and Flamingo Drive.

Australian has met them in Berlin. Then, they play a gig together in London, and there was born a strong bond of complicity between them. Beautiful production one more time on Eskimo Recordings, keep an eye on this label !

Les Loups - Out Of Sight (Ft. Moona)

On vous avait déjà parlé de ce duo ici. Les Loups sont de retour avec Out Of Sight, un titre plus chaloupé que les productions précédentes. Les allemands profitent de la participation de Moona pour explorer de nouveaux horizons musicaux. La chanteuse française appose sa touche personnelle de sa voix sensuelle, comme une légère caresse.

Certes, Out Of Light n'a pas le côté funky qui nous avait plu dans Club Coeur, mais le virage pop est joliment négocié. On retrouve tout de même un côté disco logé dans la ligne de basse en intro, ainsi que des synthés au son rétro. Une nouvelle identité musicale qu'on a hate de découvrir !

We have already told about this duo here. Les Loups comes back with Out Of Sight, a track which swaying more than previous productions. Thanks to the participation of Moona, German explore new musical horizons. French singer put his personal touch with her sensual voice, like a gentle caress.

Of course, Out Of Light has not the funky side we appreciate in Club Coeur, but the pop curve is nicely negotiated. However, we still found a disco side hidden in the bass line and retro synth sounds. A new musical identity we wait to find out !

Gamper & Dadoni, De Hofnar - Oxas

On n'avait jamais parlé auparavant de Gamper & Dadoni. On se rattrape donc avec Oxas. Les producteurs allemands qui sont en ce moment en tournée en France font dans l'électro swing jazzy. Le genre de "feel good music" avec un saxo joueur et une ligne de basse bien groovy. On est sous le charme dès la première écoute.Le dernier remix est pas mal non plus.

We had never talked before of Gamper & Dadoni. So, we are catching up with Oxas. The German producers who are at the moment on tour in France are making a nice electro music with some swing and jazz touches. The kind of "feel good music" with a joyful sax and a groovy bass line. We are under the spell from the first listening. Le last remix is not bad either.

Retour sur le dernier EP de Here is Why. Le groupe de Leipzig, a sorti deux bons morceaux juste avant l’été. Ok, pour la saison, ça sonne tout de même très coldwave. Sensible et planant, leur musique reste bien pop malgré tout !

Justin Faust - Space Rhumba

Tout est dit dans le titre. Le dernier morceau de Justin Faust s'intitule Space Rhumba et il porte très bien son nom.

Des percussions latines et frivoles, des synthés percutants et des chœurs naïfs et enjoués. Un air simplissime et enfantin qui reste en tête. Le remix de Xinobi est aussi loin d'être désagréable. Le tout est sur Discotexas.

Everything is in the title. The last track produced by Justin Faust is entitled Space Rhumba and the name fits perfectly the spirit of the song.

Latin and frivolous percussion, punchy synths and naive and playful vocals. A simple and childish tune that remains in your head. The remix of Xinobi is also not unpleasant. It’s on Discotexas.
