Munk - Happiness Juice

On continue notre série sur l'été en vous parlant aujourd'hui d'un petit cocktail musical qui nous a pas mal séduit. C'est frais, acidulé, ça explose en bouche! Il faut dire qu'on a l'habitude d'être régalé avec Munk, allemand vivant à Marseille qui nous offre ici une alliance très sympa de new-disco berlinois et de détente provençale.

Un mois avant la sortie de son EP le 25 août, le patron du label Gomma a assorti le premier extrait de son prochain EP, Happiness Juice, d'un clip coloré qui rend l'attente compliquée!

Let's continue to talk about summer. Here is the cool musical cocktail we were just waiting for this summer. It's fresh, sweet and refreshing! Munk, a German artist living un Marseille is familiar with this kind of dancing Nu-Disco and perfectly mixes sounds from Berlin with the provencal way of life.

Il y a un an on découvrait avec délice Tonight des KDMS leur clip retro-décadent façon la chute. On s'en souvient comme si c'était hier... il faut dire que le groupe, signé par l'excellent label allemand Gomma, connait la recette pour nous donner envie de bouger. 

Il y a d'abord cette bonne basse, obsédante, omniprésente qui n'a rien à envier à celle des Whispers. Et puis il y a la voix entraînante de la Diva Kathy Diamond qui se pose parfaitement dessus. 

Bref on va pas s'étendre, juste souligner que des bon disco en ce moment c'est assez rare et ça vaut le coup de prêter l'oreille!

One year ago we were delightfully enjoying the KDMS with their song tonight and its retro-decadent clip for the first time. We still remember that time as if it was yesterday... Actually it is not surprising as the band is produced by the excellent German label, Gomma. 

Those guys perfectly know how to make us shake. First there is that obsessing and omnipresent bass guitar comparable to the one of the Whispers. Then there is Kathy Diamond's diva voice that perfectly fits. 

Anyway, no need to talk more about it. It's just another Disco record that is worth listening and it's quite rare in 2012!

Telonius - Last Night (Maxi)

Décidement le label Gomma a décidé de nous faire bouger cet été... après Munk, the KDMS et Box Codax, c'est au tour de Telonius de frapper joyeusement du poing sur la table. Pour le coup, on peut être sûr que l'artiste s'inscrit dans le plus pur esprit de la maison de disque puisque c'est l'oeuvre de Jonas Imbery, justement un des Co-fondateurs du label Allemand.

Le gimmick de Telonius c'est la house Dico, groovy, futuriste du tout début des 90s qu'il revisite avec une bonne dose de talent et qui sonne en somme vraiment bien par les temps qui courent. La chanson Last night exploite le filon avec voix sexys et du sons funky caractéristiques...

Ici l'artistes nous offre dans son maxi une bonne dose de remixes du titre pour tous les gouts. On vous propose une version instrumentale assez posée lounge pour siroter votre verre de vin blanc sur votre terasse en teck ou simplement votre balcon d'appart!

Really Gomma wants to make us move this summer... After Munk, the KDMS, Box Codax this is the turn of Telonius to thump happiely the table. What we can be sure of is that the artist is typical from the spirit of the German Label as Jonas Imbery is one of the co-founders.

Telonius's Gimmick is Funky Dico and futurist house from the beginning of the 90s that he revisits with talent and which sounds really good considering current times. The song last night is caracteristic from his influences with its sexy voices and funky sound.

Imbery offers us different remixes far all the tastes. Here is a instrumental and lounge version that you can listen drinking a glass of white wine on your teak terace or your balcony if you don't have one!

Si si! les mecs qui claimaient à qui voulait l'entendre que danser avec les loutres c'était vraiment stylé dans "Only An Orchad Away" (2006)! Bon, c'est aussi le projet de l'excellent et completement jeté Nick McCarthy des Franz Ferdinand.

Il se trouve ces droles de types viennent de récidiver ce mois-ci avec un nouvel album encore plus barré, "Hellabuster". Le projet rassemble pas mal de beau monde puisqu'il est produit par Joseph Mount, le petit génie des Metronomy qui a déjà remixé leur titre naked smile, le batteur des Franz Ferdinand s'y colle aussi pour notre plus grand bonheur!

Au programme un florilège de chansons complétement décalées, du bon sons Lo-Fi, des tonalités Post-Punk, synthés crappy à Gogo! Ca se prend pas au sérieux, ça lance des paroles bien connes, ça explore des sons nouveaux...On aime!

You know, the guys who said to anybody that dancing with otters was cool in their 2006 LP "Only An Orchad Away". Well it is also the project of the brillant guitarist of Franz Ferdinand, Nick MacCarthy.

Actually those funny Lads did it again this month with a new album even crazier than the previous one, "Hellabuster". The project rallies some famous artists for it is produced by Joseph Mount, the small genius from Metronomy  Who has already remixed their single naked smile. The drummer of Franz Ferdinand is present as well to make us happy!

The programm is the following: Lo-Fi sound, good old post punk, crappy synthetizers! Nobody is taking it seriously, lyrics are delightfully stupid, we hear plenty of weird new sounds...We love it!

Kathy Diamond et Maximilian Skiba (oui, oui, ce Skiba, talentueux polonais de 22 ans; celui qui a déjà travaillé avec Bearfunk et Under The Shade...), plus connus sous le nom de The KDMS, reviennent avec un nouvel EP, Tonight, sorti le 13 mai sur le label Gomma. Ce titre est un savant mélange de toutes les sonorités caractéristiques du label: un brin d'Italo-Disco, un soupçon de Funk, et bien sûr, de la Pop. On y retrouve la superbe voix de Kathy et des refrains ravageurs capables de faire danser n'importe qui: du pur bonheur.

Voici donc un morceau disco et groovy à souhait, bien dosé et fichtrement sexy.

Kathy Diamond and Maximilian Skiba (yes, this Skiba, the 22 years old supertalent from Poland; the one who has already worked with Bearfunk and Under The Shade...), well known as The KDMS, are back with a new EP, Tonight, released on may, the 13th, on the Gomma label. This track is a clever mix of all the specific sounds of the label: a bit of Italo-Disco, a touch of Funk and some Pop, of course. Then, we can listen to the beautiful voice of Kathy and to stunning chorus, that could make anyone dancing... pure bliss.
