Après nous avoir fait la surprise de mettre en ligne deux remix la semaine dernière, Luke Million nous dévoile aujourd'hui l'intégralité de son Midnight Galaxy EP. Et l'attente est à la hauteur de nos espérances. Midnight et Galaxy, les deux titres originaux sont gonflés au Nu Disco. Des synthés hantés par les années 80, un beat dansant et la sensibilité du producteur australien; bref tous les ingrédients sont là pour ravir nos oreilles.
Et le plaisir est prolongé grâce aux différents remix opérés par Grum et Poupon (dont on vous a déjà parlé ici), et Pete Herbert. On notera aussi la "90's version" de Midnight, un bel exercice de style pour une version plus eurodance !

After surprise us to release two remix last week, Luke Million unveils today its entire Galaxy Midnight EP. And the wait is up to our expectations. Midnight and Galaxy, the two original tracks are inflated by Nu Disco. Synths haunted by the 80s, a dance beat and the sensitivity of the Australian producer; in short all the ingredients are there to delight our ears.
And the pleasure is extended through the various remix made by Grum and Poupon (which has already been mentioned here) and Pete Herbert. We also note the "90's version" of Midnight, a nice exercise for a more eurodance version !

new EP in the soul. We had already told you here about this duo formed by TonyMitolo and Luke Million, two Australians fan of retro-futuristic sounds.
With Elouisa,
the pair hit hard: powerful riffs, retro synths and catchy melodies; all the

Villa. The first makes the track more dynamic, while the second tries an

After a long pause, Australian Midnight Juggernauts are back with a new album, Uncanny Valley scheduled for June 17. First preview with Ballad of the War Machine and its Soviet clip.
A nostalgic and enchanting music, a real ballad Russian tinged of pride and solemnity. Away from the stereotypes of the electro rock genre. The clip is unexpected and shows the commitment of the three boys to the greatest country in the world.
Tyler Touché se présente comme “A young funkster on a quest to discover the secrets of the French Touch” et on peut dire que ça résume assez bien l’ambiance de ce remix. Cet australien a retravaillé un des derniers morceaux de Harts, un compatriote qui vient de sortir son premier EP. Le remix de The Music, est au final bien funky et électro. On se dandine et on apprécie.

Il y a un an et demi, on découvrait sur Vocododo le premier morceau d’Atlas Genius. A l’époque Trojans nous était reste en tête une bonne partie de l’été. Apres un EP plutôt sympa au printemps dernier, les australiens vont faire le grand saut avec un premier album, When It Was Now prévu pour la semaine prochaine.
If So, en premier extrait montre bien que ce groupe est monté en puissance et que c’est loin d’être fini. C’est rythmé et joué avec fougue et fraicheur. Ces garçons ont parfaitement compris les règles du genre électro rock, synthés et guitares ne sont pas là pour faire tapisserie.
Au même moment sort le premier album de Strange Talk, un autre groupe australien au style assez proche. Il va y avoir de la concurrence !

One year and half ago, we were discovering the first track of Atlas Genius. After a pretty cool EP last year, the Australian band achieves a new step with a first album, When It Was Now, due for next week.
If So, the first extract shows that this band is still growing. The pace is good; they definitely know rules of electro rock music. They will maybe find some concurrence with the first album of another Australian band that is producing a quite similar music: Strange Talk. Good luck guys!

Sun City, the Perth based duo returns with a second EP, Set Alight and a small nugget: High. An electro pop track that should be terribly efficient on you. Nevertheless the other tracks are not unforgettable. Let’s wait for debut album in 2013.
Venu tout droit de Brisbane, les quatre garçons de Mitzi opèrent une pop très douce, limite disco. Il y a un peu de Jamirquai au travers des beats dansant, mélangés avec des lignes de bass très lisses et une voix suave qui vous berce lentement. Une recette paradoxale mais qui fonctionne à merveille! Les australiens ont surtout un sens développé pour pondre de très belles mélodies avec de bons arrangements.
Leur dernière piste, Who Will Love You Now, est le genre de morceau planant qui s'écoute à n'importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit. On se laisse rapidement bercer par cette douce mélodie, accroché par ces notes de synthés qui vous piquent au vif, disparaissant aussi vite qu'elles sont apparues.
En bonus, All I Heard, un autre enregistrement du groupe un peu plus punchy, qu'on apprécie beaucoup. Et allez donc faire un tour sur leur soundcloud, ils y postent régulièrement des mixtapes de très bonne facture!

Straight from Brisbane, the four boys of Mitzi operate a very soft pop, dico limit. There is a bit of Jamiroquai through dance beats, mixed with very smooth bass lines and sultry voice that lulls you slowly. A paradoxically recipe, but ilt works grat! Australians have especially a strong sense for laying beautiful melodies with good arrangements.
Their last track, Who Will Love You Now, is the kind of song that listening hovering at any time of day or night. We quickly left soothed by the gentle melody, caught by these synths notes that bit you in bright, disparing as quickly as they appeared.
Bonus, All I Heard, an another record a little more punchy of the band that we really appreciate. And have a look on their soundcloud, they regularly post very good quality mixtapes!
Ok, on vous a déjà beaucoup parlé de Discotexas ce mois-ci, mais on voulait vraiment partager avec vous la dernière sortie du label. Fragile Disco, c’est le nouvel EP de Philosophy of sound. On vous a déjà présenté le duo australien l’été dernier grâce à Freedom, What For ?, un morceau électro disco que l’on écoutait alors en boucle.
Sur cet Ep, vous trouverez de nouvelles chansons mais aussi de nouvelles versions de certains morceaux qui ont déjà fait leurs preuves. L’utilisation de guitares bien funky est très appréciable et invite vraiment danser. Le remix de Coupons ne passe pas inaperçu également.

Ok, we already talked a lot about Discotexas this month, but we want to share with you the last release of the label. Fragile Disco is the new baby of Philosophy of sound. We already presented you the Australian duo last spring with Freedom, What For? , a very catchy Electro disco track.
On this EP, you will find new tracks but also new versions of some songs that already seduced us in the past. The utilization of funky guitars is highly appreciated in most of these songs are like invitations to dance.

A l’écoute de sa dernière chanson Ice Ice Arnie (Cool Party), on voit qu’il vit encore dans les 80’s. Claviers, beats, voix, tout y est. Fan de vocodeur, on ne peut qu’adorer son remix de Disco Dictator qui porte d’ailleurs très bien son nom.

Behind this name, there is half of the duo The Swiss (indeed, they are Australian). So, as you can imagine, Luke Million plays Italo Disco music. This guy is still living in the 80’s, as you can see with his last track, Ice Ice Arnie (Cool Party). Keyboards, beats, voices, everything is here. Vocoder fan, you will definitely love his remix of Disco Dictator.

organiste - Sam Sparro quittera rapidement l’Australie pour Los Angeles puis la
Grande Bretagne. C’est là, à la fin des années 1990, qu’il construira son
identité musicale : une électro-pop dynamique virant parfois à électro-funk
souvent teintée de soul.
C’est en 2008 avec son
deuxième single « Black and Gold » que Sam Sparro conquit les hits

« Happiness » issu de son dernier album « Return to

Born in an artist’s
family – his father wrote the music for Star Trek, Queer Eye and his mother
played organ in a Baptist Church - Sam Sparro was raised in Sydney but soon
left his homeland for Los Angeles and the UK. There, in the late 1990s, he will
build his own music style: a vigorous electro-pop moving sometimes to an
electro-funk tinged with some soul tunes.
In 2008,
his second single “Black and Gold” will quickly climb up to the top UK and Australian
Singles chart. However, we propose you here his last single called “Happiness”,
from his last album “Return to Paradise”.
