Tesla Boy - The Universe Made of Darkness (Night Version)

Plus d'un an après la sortie de leur album, Tesla Boy propose une version alternative, faite avec des remixes. Une chanson, un remix.

Et il est franchement difficile de dire lequel de ces remixes est le meilleur. Ils sont tous très funky et catchy et, oui, c'est "Night Version", c'est donc plutôt orienté club. C'est aussi assez cool de voir un mélange de remixeurs russes et étrangers sur un même disque.

More than one year after the release of their album, Tesla Boy proposes an alternative version, made with remixes. One song, one remix.

And it is honestly difficult to say which remix is the best. They are all very funky and catchy and, yes, it's "Night Version", so it's perfect for partying. It also nice to see a mix of Russian and foreign remixers.

Bands Selection #6 - Thy Lankasters

Nous sommes allés en Russie pour cette nouvelle Bands selection. Thy Lankasters, que nous suivons de près a partagé avec nous dix morceaux assez intéressants. Entre synth pop et dubstep. Des années 80 à maintenant. Vous pouvez retrouver certains de ces sons dans leur musique.

Par ailleurs, ils ont fait un bon remix de l'une des dernière chanson de Tesla Boy, on l'a rajouté à la fin de cette sélection.

We went to Russia for this new Bands selection. Thy Lankasters, that we closely follow has shared with us ten exciting tracks. Between synth pop and dubstep. From the 80's to the 10's. You may find some of these sounds in their music.

By the way, they made a very nice remix of one of Tesla Boy latest tune. Check it at the end of this selection.

Mr James Blake is one of my all-time favorite producers. It keeps amazing me how slick does he mix dubstep beats with deep R&B-style vocals. Sweet piano progressions + well placed samples from Kellis “Caught out there” - you will be pleased for sure. 



- Mount Sims - Restless 
Dead drums, synths like Kraftwerk`s "Trans-Europe-Express", mystique vocals and goosebumps. 



- Neon Indian - Polish Girl 
In love with this juicy, summer tune, when I first time heard it in one of the Reading`s hotel (during Reading festival) on E4 advertisement.



- Burial - Homeless 
I can listen to Burial’s beatlines over and over again for days - its just that hypnotizing. Its just amazing how he can make a song out of a single beat and you just cant get enough of it. Freaking groovy stuff!



- Celebrate The Nun – Will You Be There
Hans Peter Geerdes and Hendrik Stedler played Depeche Mode style music before they become Scooter band, D`you know that?



- Solid Gold - Who You Gonna Run To
The plane flying across the cloudy horses and elephants in the sky. Nice audio for alone beach laying.



- Parachute Youth – Count to Ten
Australian synth pop duo count to ten and then you have to dance.



- Jamie xx - Girl
Such a romantic piece of music - a perfect soundtrack to sitting with a hot girly by the ocean watching the sun come up.

- Boat Club – Memories

Fresh air and breezy hair.

- Tiger Love – Summer Rain

Talkboy tape recorder and VHS. 2 words which can describe the epoch of 90s.

Tesla Boy - M.C.H.T.E.

La musique de Tesla Boy a le gout de la bonne pop des années 80, le gout de l’excentricité, la volonté d’essayer de produire chaque son en lui donnant une texture dynamique, faussement moderne, mais bien accrocheuse. Originaire de Moscou, ce garçon et son groupe font une sorte de new wave plutôt cool, mais vous devriez déjà savoir ça, (on en a déjà parlé ici).

M.C.H.T.E. est le deuxième extrait de leur second album à paraître le 21 mai prochain, The Universe Made Of Darkness. Le synthé est loin de passe inaperçu et la ligne de bass est plus que funky. On dirait presque que ça à 30 ans !

Tesla Boy music tastes as 80’s synthpop, it tastes the eccentricity, the will to try to produce every sound with a dynamic, falsely modern but catchy texture. Hailing from Moscow, this guy and his band produce a pretty cool new wave but you may already know it (we spoke about them here).

M.C.H.T.E. is the second single of their upcoming second album, The Universe Made Of Darkness (May 21st). Shimmering synths and funky bass line are not absent, we can almost imagine that it is 30 years old !

Tesla Boy - Split

Parmi les pépites que recèle la très active scène moscovite, on se penche aujourd’hui sur le cas Tesla Boy. Ce trio a déjà parcouru beaucoup de chemin depuis sa formation en 2008. Écumant les scènes européennes pour promouvoir leurs compositions, les russes se sont battis une solide réputation, qui leur a même permis de faire une apparition outre-Atlantique l’été dernier à New-York !

Leur musique, parlons-en ! une électro-pop très inspirée des groupes des années 80 tels que Depeche Mode, Eurythmics ou encore David Bowie. Les synthés sont donc très présents, en accords parfait avec la voix lancinante d’Anton, le chanteur. Tandis que Mikhail (Batterie) et Leonid (Basse) assure une section rythmique réglée comme une horloge.

En écoute, leur maxi single Slpit, composé de deux titres originaux, et paré de remix opérés de façon chirurgicale par Pioneerball, 7heMyriads et SoundSAM, rien que ça !

Among the nuggets that contains the active scene from Moscow, we will now consider the case Tesla Boy. This trio has already come a long way since its formation in 2008. Skimming European scenes to promote their compositions, Russians are built themselves a solid reputation, which allowed to make an appearance in the other side of the Atlantic last summer in New York!

Their music, let's talk! an electro-pop very inspired by bands of the 80s such as Depeche Mode, Eurythmics and David Bowie. The synths are very present, in perfect agreement with the nagging voice of Anton, the singer. While Mikhail (Drums) and Leonid (Bass) provides a rhythm section like clockwork.

Listening, their maxi single Slpit, consisting of two original tracks and remixes operate surgically by Pioneerball, 7he Myriads and SoundSAM, no less!
