Manhood - Feminine Wiles EP

We discovered Manhood this week on the website of Dracula Horse, his label and we quickly enjoyed his tracks.

Last summer he released a refreshing EP entitled Feminine Wiles EP. Deliberately provocative with the covert art, his songs show also that there is a kind of dementia in his sound. Boys, the opening track is maybe the catchiest (do not confuse with Sabrina’ one). Manhood represents a little bit the vision of Berlin that we have.

Recently he made Dust for a Hearing Gold’s compilation. This one is a little bit less well from our point of view. Download for free here!

Seppuku - Permanent Real Delicate

Something more experimental with Seppuku! Based in Knoxville, Seppuku is Adam Cottle’s post punk project and he just recorded Permanent Real Delicate, his first Ep on Dracula Horse.

It’s difficult to find cohesion between all this 6 tracks. Sometimes noisy, sometimes melancholic, each song has its own personality. Evaporating Rain and its echoes seem to come from another universe, the unpronounceable and dark 0I08T001 is seizing…

In a completely different style, Adam Cottle is also recording electronic stuff under the name of Arrete. Who knows, you may hear about him very soon on Vocododo.

It’s not love at first sight but, the more you listen to Seppuku, the more you like it.
