Polar Sun - Caribou EP

Un peu de Nu-Disco pour la fin de semaine, ça ne fait jamais de mal. Polar Sun est belge, et après s'être fait la main sur différents remix, il nous livre enfin un premier EP prometteur. Caribou  c'est de l'instrumental, le producteur s'exprime juste au travers de ses synthés et le résultat est cool!

Some Nu Disco for the end of the week, it never hurts. Polar Sun is Belgian, and after learning on various remix, it finally gives us a promising first EP. Caribou is instrumental, the producer expresses just through his synths and the result is cool!

Empereur - She Was ​/​ While Puritans

Et vlan, dans ta face! On vient de se prendre la plus jouissives des baffes par Empereur et leur premier 7''. Les belges balancent un punk binaire redoutable. Deux titres menés par une bass sanguinaire compilés sur un vinyle chez Le Turc Mecanique. Un petit coté Frustration qui ne nous déplaît pas.

Hâte de voir ça en live !

And wham, in your face! We just received the most pleasurable slap by Empereur and their first 7 ''. The Belgian band hurls a formidable binary punk. Two songs led by a bloody bass compiled on vinyl, at Le Turc Mecanique. It reminds us Frustration, and it's cool.

Looking forward to see them live!

Stromae - Formidable.

Nouveau morceau de Stromae: Formidable.

Deux ans après Alors On Danse, le belge fait un gros buzz avec son clip et les rumeurs qui l'ont entourés (Stromae, des problèmes d'alcool ?). On en oublie presque la chanson elle même. Niveau musique, c'est étonnant, presque dérangeant au début, mais on s'habitue. Un genre de chanson française avec des beats electro, et des voix/lamentations qui rappellent un Brel (en plus moderne tout de même). Un peu trop variété peut être, mais beaucoup d’émotion. Nous on préfère le Stromae d'il y a 2 ans!

Le nouvel album est prévu pour cet automne.

New song for Stromae: Formidable.

Two years after Alors On Danse, the Belgian singer is back with a surprising song. The video clip created a big buzz on internet, with a lot of rumors. At the end, we didn't speak so much about the music itself. It sounds like French easy listening with some techno drums. Tell us what you think!

Unfortunately, we prefer the previous Stromae! New album is due for next fall.

Brahim - Be Mine Tonight (Tempogeist remix)

Aujourd’hui c’est vendredi, et on a trouvé LA piste qui va vous faire danser tout le week end ! Tempogeist s’est attaqué à Be Mine Tonight, une piste à la base déjà très funky. Et apparemment, Brahim a apprécié le travail du duo Belge puisque le remix sera en piste bonus sur 1984, son prochain album prévu pour le 20 février prochain !

Ce remix s’inscrit dans la plus pure tradition Nu disco qu’on affectionne particulièrement. Les rythmes sont chaloupés, offrant une assise à des synthés qui sautillent, sortants de nulle part. La recette est efficace, sans compromis.

Si Tempogeist ne vous évoque rien, jetez un œil à Transatlantic, leur très prometteur premier EP sorti il y a quelques mois, il vaut le détour !

Today is Friday, and we found THE track that will make you dance all weekend ! Tempogeist tackled Be Mine Tonight, a funky track at the basis. And apparently, Brahim appreciated the work of the Belgian duo because the remix will be a bonus track on 1984, his next album scheduled for February 20th!

This remix is part of the Nu Disco tradition which we particularly fond. The rhythms are swaying providing a seat for synths which jump, out of nowhere. . The recipe is effective without compromising.

Shindu - Just Go EP Part 1 & 2

Shindu c’est avant tout le fruit la rencontre entre Christopher, DJ aux accents éléctro pop, et une voix, True Flemings Chibi. Ce duo d’origine belge enregistre depuis 2011 de douces mélodies pop, dans une ambiance typée années 80.

Just Go EP Part 1 & 2 est en fait une compil des meilleurs remix de leur piste éponyme. Le mix original pour commencer, portée par cette voix chaude et colorée qui nous laisse un brin rêveur, comme si elle prenait place dans votre tête et dirigeait vos rêves. Et des remix donc, avec notamment Cyclist, Kamp!, Reflex et Plaisir de France derrière la console.

Chacun y va de son interprétation personnelle, orientée plus pop pour l’un, plus éléctro pour l’autre, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Quel meilleur moyen pour se rendre compte du vrai travail de ces DJs !

Shindu is above all the fruit of the meeting between Christopher, DJ electro pop accents and a voice, True Flemings Chibi. This duo from Belgium records since 2011 sweet pop melodies in a typical '80s atmosphere.

Actually, Just Go EP Part 1 & 2 is a compilation of the best remix of their eponymous track. First of all, the original mix, driven by the warm and colorful voice which leaves us a bit dreamy, as if it took place in your head and ran your dreams. And therefore remix, including Cyclist, Kamp!, Reflex and Plaisir deFrance behind the console.

Everyone has their own personal interpretation, more pop-oriented for some to more electro for the other, there is something for everyone. What better way to realize the true work of these DJs!

Erika Spring - Happy At Your Gate (Aeroplane Remix)

Erika Spring, c’est la douce et sensuelle voix de Au Revoir Simone. Ses chansons légères et aériennes font le bonheur des fans du groupe qui est en pause. Happy At Your Gate est une de ces chansons. 

Les amateurs de Nu-disco doivent connaitre Aeroplane, le DJ belge qui balance régulièrement des mixtapes jouissives. Son remix de la chanson d’Erika Spring est un vrai petit bijou, une chanson qui monte doucement en puissance et qui ne laisse pas indifférent.

Erika Spring is the soft and sensual voice of Au Revoir Simone. Her light and aerial songs are more than a consolation for the band’s fan. Happy At Your Gate is one of these songs. 

People who like Nu-disco music may know Aeroplane. The Belgian DJ often shares crazy mixtapes on soundcloud. The remix he done for Erika Spring is a delight, the track slowly grows in strength and it does not leave indifferent.

Aujourd'hui on vous fait partager un remix du groupe Franco-finlandais, The Do, Bohemian Dance, par YUS (aka Youceff Kabal). On a particulièrement aimé sa vision aérienne, dream-pop du titre et le clip qui colle particulièrement.

YUS, basé à Phoenix ne donne pas que dans le remix, il compose et chante (fort bien!) et a sorti fin 2010 un LP au son Lo-Fi, Palms, qui vaut le détour. on vous poste ici quelques tracks et on vous invite à faire un tour sur son bandcamp!

Today a new remix of the French-Finnish band The Do by YUS (aka Youceff Kabal). We particularly enjoyed his aerial and dream-pop vision of Bohemian Dance and the nice video that matches pretty well.

YUS is a Phoenix-based artist that is not only remixing other's people songs. He also composes and sings and released Palms, a Lo-Fi LP at the end of 2010 that is worth listening! Here are some tracks, the others are on his bandcamp!
