Deux ans après son EP Dunes, le projet solo basé à Seattle de Peter Michel, (ancien batteur des Craft Spells) revient avec une nouvelle chanson dream pop. Un piste mené par des guitares mélodiques enveloppés par des tonnes de réverbérations.

Two years after Dunes Ep, the Seattle-based solo project of Peter Michel, (former drummer of Craft Spells) comes back with a new a dream pop song. A track lead by a melodic guitars shrouded by tons of reverbs.
Le 10 juin prochain, Craft Spells fera son retour avec un deuxième album, Nausea. Breaking the Angle Against the Tide est le premier single et comme ils sont sympas, c'est en téléchargement gratuit. Les américains font dans la pop lumineuse et optimiste et leur prochain CD s'annonce plutôt pas trop mal, comme leur dernier opus, souvenez vous, c'était ici. Sans surprise, cela se passe sur Captured Tracks.

June 10, Craft Spells will return with a second album, Nausea. Breaking the Angle Against the Tide is the first single and as they are nice, it's a free download. The Americans make a bright and upbeat pop and their next CD should be not too bad, as their last album, remember, it was here.
Même si le nom est français, Hibou, ce projet dream pop vient des États-Unis. Sa joyeuse et malicieuse guitare est inspirée par la new wave anglaise. Donc, avec ce son, vous ne serez pas surpris si je vous dis qu'il a été le batteur de Craft Spells. Hide Away est son dernier morceau.

Even if the name is French, Hibou (Owl), this dream pop project is based in the US. His joyful guitar is inspired by English new wave. So with this sound, you will not be surprise if I tell you that he was the drummer of Craft Spells. Hide Away is his latest track.

En provenance de Seattle, le groupe a très bien compris comment mélanger la New Wave des années 80 et la Dream Pop modern. En exagérant un peu, on pourrait presque dire que si les gars de New Order jouaient encore comme il y a vingt ans, cela serait parfaitement le type d’album qu’il sortirait aujourd'hui. Craft Spellsfait penser à Wild Nothing, il y a cette même voix lointaine qui nous berce, mais leur son se rapproche aussi d’autre groupe américain de Chillwave dont nous avons déjà parlé sur Vocododo.
Vous ne serez donc pas déçu par Idle Labor. Ecoutez From The Morning Heat pour voir...

A nice new video clip just came out for Your Tomb, a song extract from the debut LP of Craft Spells, Idle Labor.
Coming from Seattle, the band uses perfectly the classic mix of 80’s New Wave and modern Dream Pop. Let’s say if New Order was still playing as twenty years ago, they would have probably released an album like that. Craft Spells are not far from other American bands as Wild Nothing (same kind of voice, no?) or other Chillwave band on which we already spoke on Vocododo.
